Biographical / Historical
Mathematics was a part of Parkland’s curriculum from the college’s founding in 1967 with its career program in Drafting Technology and its transfer program in Mathematics. In 1971, the Mathematics & Physical Science Division included the following programs: Auto-Farm Technology, Chemistry, Drafting, Electronics, Mathematics, Physics, Physical Science, and Micro-Precision.
Since its inception, the Department of Mathematics has offered courses required or recommended for degree programs outside the department, such as Business Administration, Engineering, and Life Science.
